Change the Active voice into passive voice with modal/मोडल के माध्यम से वाच्य परिवर्तन



Modal verbs normally precede the main verb and provide additional information about the function of the main verb. The modals cannot be used alone and they always appear with a main verb.

मोडल क्रियाएं आमतौर पर मुख्य क्रिया से पहले होती हैं और मुख्य क्रिया के कार्य के बारे में अतिरिक्त जानकारी प्रदान करती हैं।  मोडल का अकेले उपयोग नहीं किया जा सकता है और वे हमेशा एक मुख्य क्रिया के साथ दिखाई देते हैं।

केवल कुछ मोडल हैं जिनका उपयोग सहायक क्रियाओं के रूप में किया जाता है।  इस प्रकार है–

can, could, may, might, will, would, must, shall, should, ought to.

Modal verb आमतौर पर passive voice के वाक्यों में उपयोग की जाती हैं।   passive voice में modal का उपयोग करने वाले वाक्यों के लिए एक सामान्य नियम है:

There are only a few modals that are used as helping verbs. Here they are: can, could, may, might, will, would, must, shall, should, ought to. Modal verbs are commonly used in sentences in passive voice. The form is similar to the form it acquires in respect of other verbs. There is a general rule for sentences using modals in passive voice is:

Object + must, may, could, can, ought to, should + be + past participle of main verb (third form) in an affirmative sentence. 

Examples:

1.Active voice: You can do your work now.

Passive voice :Your work can be done now by you.

2. Active voice:You could not do your work.

Passive voice:Your work could not be done by you.

3. Active voice : They must do their work.

Passive voice :Their work must be done by them.

4. Active voice:You may leave the  room now.

Passive voice:The room may be left now by you.

Just as in other cases, when the sentence is in question form, the modal appears first:

Must, may, can, should, might + object + be + past participle of main verb (third form).

Example:

1.Active voice : Can I do your hair?

Passive voice: Can your hair be done?

2.Active voice: Could you lend me some money?

Passive voice: Could some money be lent to me.

3.Active voice:Might I use your car?

Passive voice: Might your cae be used? 

4. Active voice:can you play cricket ?

Passive voice: Can cricket be played?

Negative sentences take the same form with ‘not’ inserted in between the modal and the main verb.

1. Active voice :You may not help him.

Passive voice :He may not be helped by you.

2. Active voice:She might not win the competition.

Passive voice:The competition might not be won by you.

3.  Active voice:We should not waste our time.

Passive voice:Our time should not be wasted.

4. Active voice :He might not contact you.

Passive voice:You might not be contacted by you.

Passive voice for modals in present and future tenses take this form:

modal + be + past participle.

Example:

1. Active voice: I can help her.

Passive voice: she can be helped.

2. Active voice: I may help her.

Passive voice: she may be helped.

3.  Active voice:I should help her.

Passive voice: she should helped.

4.  Active voice:You may learn english.

Passive voice:English may be learnt by you.

5. Active voice:we might sell our house.

Passive voice: our house might be sold by us.

Passive voice for modals in past tense takes this form:

modal + have been + past participle.

Examples:

1. Active voice: you should have learnt English.

Passive voice: English should have been learnt by you.

2. Active voice:You might have seen this movie.

Passive voice: This movie might have been seen by you.

3.Active voice: somebody must have told her 

Passive voice: She must have been told by somebody .

4.Active voice: You would have passed the examination.

Passive voice: The examination would have been passed  by you.

5. Active voice: She will have learnt this lesson.

Passive voice: This lesson will have been learnt by her.
